PHP and MySQL reference books - a recommended reading list (for USA and Canada)

While you're learning PHP (and MySQL) and then onwards as you put it to work in your sites you'll need good reference and 'how-to' books on hand to answer questions and help you find new ways of approaching things.

In all seriousness, you should consider buying at least one of these books if you're going to get into using PHP at all. These are invaluable - I have five of them within arm's reach of me right now!

Must Have:

If you only buy one book on this subject and you want it to last beyond your first steps into this exciting world, this is the one that gets the highest recommendations.

Of course, it is best to end up with more than one reference book as each will have a slightly different approach, but this is a great one to start with.
