YouMe Camera

Take a photo from BOTH sides of the camera, automatically!

Taking a photo is great, but why not also record who was taking it? Nobody will stop and flip their phone around, so this does it for you. Use it to document both sides of the scene... or prank someone by getting them to take a snap with your camera.

What It Does

The YouMe Camera is a web-based app that takes a photo from both sides of your phone, merges the two images together, and presents them with a full set of save/share choices so you can quickly and easily get it to whoever should see it.

Under the Hood

The YouMe Camera is a revival of an iOS app built by a friend over a decade ago. That was created using Xcode, but in the meantime HTML, JavaScript and CSS has evolved to the point where an astounding level of hardware control is now possible. Nailing the timing of the second shot was key, and of course detecting desktop/laptops and any other devices without ‘selfie’ cameras – it’s really not much use without both front and back cameras!
